0% 123 HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU ON THE VIRTUAL STAGE? Are you a entrepreneur struggling to get more visibility? Confidence is EVERYTHING when selling your service or product. Find out how confident you are on the virtual stage with this easy five-minute quiz. How confident do you feel when you’re in front of a camera? I freeze up and forget everything I want to say. I don’t like being on camera; I’ll only do it if I have to. I could host a daytime reality show at a moment’s notice! I’ve led live events before, but I always feel a bit of stage fright while I’m presenting. I’m self-conscious about how I look or sound. When I’m explaining something to someone, they usually: Occasionally ask me to repeat myself or ask what I mean. Act as if they want me to get to the point. Ask me several times to repeat myself and/or ask me what I mean. Say that I sound harsh or irritated when I'm actually feeling relaxed. Say things like “I see”, “Okay”, or “I understand” immediately after I explain the concept. How comfortable are you with selling your product and/or talking about pricing? I’ve been paying close attention to sales strategies, so I know how to do it I have experience in sales, but I don’t feel very confident selling a product in person or over a live video chat Instead of advertising my price, I prefer that potential clients contact me for a quote because I don’t want to scare them away I really don’t like to toot my own horn or talk about money I'm good at describing the details of my product/service, but I don't know how to persuade people to buy it When you go to a party, which of these describes you best? I find myself needing to be alone every so often I observe the fun from a distance. I get my groove on and usually make a few new friends. I am the life and soul of the party. I dance a bit and chat with a few people. My first instinct when asked to present in front of a large audience is to: Run away as fast as I can Ask my friends and family members tocome and support me Do some research and get advice on how I can prepare and give my best presentation Embrace the challenge and use feedback from my last presentation to make this one better Get my Oprah on and give the most incredible TED Talk ever This best describes MY experience leading live events: Although I've hosted a few workshops, done live videos, and gained followers, I generally hate doing live events on social media I’ve been a guest on a few webinars, but I prefer to show pre-recorded videos to my social media audience because I'm too nervous about going live I have never hosted a live event other than a virtual trivia night with friends I am comfortable leading virtual and face-to-face events, but I get overwhelmed trying to figure out how to use the features on social media apps I have done live presentations on social media, but so far, the responses have been poor I am at my best when: I’m a behind the scenes facilitator, I prefer not to be front and center or even seen I rehearse my presentations and use a slideshow and other material to guide me and tend to focus on my notes I do in-person events or pre-recorded video presentations instead of live online events I am speaking to people in my age group; I feel most connected to my contemporaries I can see and interact with my audience; I like to feel out my crowd to know what direction to take with my presentation When it comes to getting public speaking coaching, I would prefer to: Learn as much as I can through courses, online resources, etc Learn how to setup charts, cue cards, notes, and presentations to read from directly Create an imperfect project and have a team of editors work on it Have someone to coach me on how to grow my speaking confidence and advise me when I run into difficulties Continually practice on my own with tips from demo videos, webinars, and courses My business is currently… Mature – My business is quite well-known at this stage, and I'm happy with that, but I have to keep on top of my game and become a leader in my industry or take my business to the next level Expanding – I feel like it's time to venture out into new areas now that I have a steady customer base and/or my product is in demand Growing – I’ve gained some experience at this stage, and I’m still learning and working on ways to bring in new clients or manage the influx of clientele I'm getting An idea – I'm still brainstorming ideas and concepts, but I have a vision of the business I want to build Just starting up – At the moment, I'm still working on my website and reaching out to potential first clients When my event has a poor turnout, I usually: Feel crushed and think about giving up on my business Ask a professional to analyze my performance and show me the areas I can improve in Look at where I went wrong or what I could've done better, and ask my audience for feedback Feel disappointed for a while but eventually try again Bounce right back, as I like to look at my failures as stepping stones Where would you say you're at when it comes to speaking fluidly and naturally in your conversations or speeches? I say "ah", "eh", "uh", or "um" a lot when I’m talking I feel like I’m stuck at a certain level of communication; I can’t express myself as much as I would like to I hesitate too much before I speak I’m usually able to give a flowing speech, but it’s a bit difficult if I get interrupted while I’m speaking I feel like the words I want to say are right on the tip of my tongue, but I can't get them out When speaking to your audience, how worried are you about what they might think if you make a mistake? I think my audience would generally be understanding, especially if I’m not speaking in my native language. I'm so worried that when I make my first error, I can imagine my listeners laughing, whispering about me, or losing interest. I’m fairly worried because I don’t want to make a bad impression on my potential clients I’m not very worried about it because we all make mistakes. I’m hesitant because if I make one mistake, I consciously try not to make any more, and ironically, that causes me to stumble over my words or forget what I was going to say When it comes to my language and grammar skills, I doubt myself so much that I: Can speak to my listeners, but I make some mistakes because I get nervous or anxious Pre-record my speeches and avoid doing live events as much as possible Don’t go off script when I’m presenting; I write my speech and follow it word for word as much as I possibly can Overthink everything I want to say and end up not being able to express myself clearly Turn down opportunities to speak I really believe that I can make a bigger impact and my business can do much better if only I could: Figure out how to fully develop and express my talents and ideas, because I have so much to share with the world Grow and flourish instead of just getting by Feel comfortable with public speaking and connect with my audience Stop doubting myself because I work hard and deserve success Feel relaxed in front of the camera when I do live events When I join a new online program or course to help improve my business skills, I sometimes: Finish the program and apply as much of it as I can to my business Complete the program but I don't get to implement much of what I learned Get excited and complete several lessons/ sessions, but then become distracted and forget about it Become overwhelmed halfway through the course and quit Don’t reach any further than the first few sessions/ lessons NameEmail
