Intro

Odiva Vasell: (00:00)
Joining us today our special guest, Miss Stefanie Lutz, who has a business called “WELL-Homes,” in which she creates healthy living and working spaces. These spaces provide us with energetically more efficient as well as healthy space to be more productive in our daily lives. I can’t wait for you to learn from her and also hear about her upcoming retreat in Antigua this year. What she’s done is help us learn how to create a beautiful space around us using the principles of feng shui, and she’ll tell you more about that. Now it’s called “WELL-Homes.” Welcome, Stefanie.

The Symbiosis of Feng Shui and Biophilia in Wellness Strategies

Feng Shui practices

Stefanie Lutz: (00:56)
Hi, Odiva. Thank you so much. I’m so happy talking to you here, and hello, everybody. My name is Stefanie Lutz, and I’m known as the Energy Transformer in Germany and Cortez, where I’m living right now most of the time. The Energy Transformer, what do we do with several legs? I have three legs for it. The first leg is what Odiva mentioned—the basics of feng shui applied to your environment in your working and living spaces. Secondly, it’s biophilic home consulting, bringing biophilia, meaning nature, more into your living spaces. Third, not only around you; even more important is what’s inside you. That’s what creates all of it. Inside you, you need some inner balance, alignment, and this I can do by being a yoga teacher, meditation teacher, and deep relaxation practitioner for 20 years. This is all what combines the energy flow transformative approach I give to the clients with my company, WELL-Homes, and as well together with my colleague and a friend, Alina from Switzerland. She’s with her company, so we do this all together—an environmental transformative thing. My English is not native.

Odiva Vasell: (02:18)
Don’t apologize. This is our Multicultural Channel, and I may even have you speak a little bit in German in a bit. That is fine because we want to welcome ladies of all backgrounds, and I always say, “Don’t apologize for your English because we love you as you are.” So, I’ll just ask you a little bit more about the feng shui because I have always been intrigued about this concept, and I always believe that I’m moving things around in my house according to feng shui just in my mind. But tell us more.

Stefanie Lutz: (02:58)
Well, the basic is, it’s a science which is over 2000 years old, and it was developed by looking at nature—what is supporting human beings in nature. There, we have our Basic Instincts which are still very intact in us, even if we are not aware of it. Like the Instinct of being feeling safe, and the second important one is, people, everybody wants to be loved and to reproduce—relationships and how can you do this? That helps as well, done the helps expect to the wealth expect to grow inner and business-wise but as well within. So feng shui looked at it, and like just one example, you always want to have a protected back. We still, if you go into a restaurant, everybody chooses the seat where he has the wall behind himself if he has a free choice and can look into the room and towards the door. You do this instinctively, and this is so much more important for your home, for your house, that all these Basic Instincts you need are fulfilled. By that, we’re looking at it—how is the home or office placed by the feng shui Compass, by the lines? If it’s on 120 degrees or 320 degrees, and then we start calculating. It’s Imperial feng shui I studied, which is a really deep, profound feng shui which goes far above what you can read in all books because it’s too complicated. But it really gives you a change of life, and this can be felt only after, normally, already four to six weeks when we applied our measurements and our aid when we think there should be something corrected or balanced.

Odiva Vasell: (04:45)
Very scientific. It’s great.

Stefanie Lutz: (04:47)
Part of a science, yes, yes, and placing a mirror there or putting something shiny somewhere else, no. We created something at WELL-Homes we call Health Home Formula, which combines the best of the feng shui and the biophilia, which is as well a very old science. With this Health Home Formula, you get not only better health, but if you’re healthier, you can work better, you have better relationships, you’re more balanced, you’re more based. So, this is what we apply to homes and offices, and it’s always tailored to the culture you live in. We work worldwide. We have mainly worked based in Europe so far, now starting, as I said before to you, a little bit in Saudi Arabia and in Asia, and we had already some clients in the states. So, we took these old sciences and translated them into the modern world and into the culture the person lives in because already between Europe and the states, there are big differences. We’re working there together directly with the clients or sometimes as well as architects or other interior designers, and then we apply what is needed for the client due to their budget and their taste of style, of course. This doesn’t mean feng shui; you have to put shiny things in your home. Not at all. Completely different.

Odiva Vasell: (06:09)
Yes, yes. And I always used to read about how your bed, your bed, you know, especially the bedroom, to get a good night’s sleep, should be feng shui and facing towards—I can’t remember the directions, but those kinds of things for the energy to flow.

Stefanie Lutz: (06:27)
Exactly, energy flow is the best, very important. As you spend so much time in the bedroom, the bedroom has a very important point in your life and could be very well-oriented. And you can’t say there is one certain direction for everybody because it depends on your birth date. We apply as well Chinese astrology. I look at the birth date of you, and then I tell you which direction. Maybe it’s north, it’s south, it’s west, it’s completely different for every person. So, you can’t say what’s best for everybody. But as a tip for everybody, even if I don’t know the birthday, you should never be in a what we call cutting G. You should always have a look towards the door and should not be between a window and a door. So, like the flow is cutting over you, and you shouldn’t be directly under a beam. If you have beams on your roof, then maybe you should replace that a bit. So, this is a general rule. Don’t be in between door and window; face, have a look at the door so you feel safe and have something behind you if possible. So, you shouldn’t have a window behind the bed but a wall, and this wall shouldn’t be, if optimum, not the bathroom door, not the bathroom wall because there are all these water lines in the wall, and this can affect the sleep. For sensitive persons, it really makes a difference. So, that’s for the bedroom. And the second rule I can give you immediately to everybody, normally when I start my deep, profound analysis of a house or office, is declutter. Like normally, most people need to declutter so the energy can flow. That’s one of the basic rules, yeah.

Odiva Vasell: (08:14)
You can immediately feel a better flow of energy when we move the clutter out of our house.

Stefanie Lutz: (08:20)
Yeah, or if they just had a cleaning lady going through, you cleaned yourself, and this even 100 times more profound we do with what we apply to our clients.

Odiva Vasell: (08:31)
And you just added a new element, Chinese astrology. I am a Wood Tiger, so if anybody knows a little bit about that, that’s quite amazing. When I first read about Chinese astrology and read about the Wood Tiger, I was like, “This person has been reading my diary. How did he know about me?” Like things that I wouldn’t even admit. It was like, “This is kind of true.” Not everybody has to agree with it or believe in it, but these are the things that I was open to when I was living in Japan. I couldn’t get my room feng shui at all because it was so small space, yeah. But it was great to kind of just know that these things are out there and they can affect our energy and how we perceive the world. Just being open to learning about it changes everything. Just having that one little flower in a room changes how we look at the room.

Stefanie Lutz: (09:48)
Yeah, just waking up in the morning and having the energy to start and have a good day, to be positive about the day. Even sometimes life brings challenges. Everybody has this. It’s not always sun or rain. So, but even on the rainy days, the energy in your house can support, help you have the positive energy to cope with these situations. And as well, like being a yoga teacher or the yoga retreat we are offering now in May helps to get these energy and these tools you need to continue even if you’re stressed out, burned out, or have some challenges to face right now.

Odiva Vasell: (10:23)
Yes. Last time we spoke, you told me that you’re moving into this new phase of having these yoga retreats to build people’s energy. Can you imagine having your home all scientifically and energetically designed to build your energy, and now you get the opportunity to go to a retreat and rebuild yourself from the inside? Tell us more about that.

Stefanie Lutz: (10:51)
Yes, exactly. We did that already before Covid, but when Covid happened, everything stopped. So, we said, now it’s time to do this again. Maybe I started yoga at the age of 20, and since 20 years, I’m a yoga teacher.

Odiva Vasell: (11:06)
20 years?

Stefanie Lutz: (11:07)
Yeah, yeah, 20 years. This step I made because I had quite thorough health issues. Everybody has their challenges in life, and I always told myself, “Okay, I want to intensify this,” and I started this education and became a yoga teacher. Between my regular work, I always started teaching and going on yoga retreats with groups for a week with always a certain theme for each week. So, I’m specialized as a hatha yoga teacher and got a special education from an Indian woman for Ayurvedic yoga, which means that you apply the science of Ayurveda to the yoga poses. So, you make analyses of the Ayurvedic balance if a person is balanced or not. For the ones maybe who haven’t heard of Ayurveda, it’s a science about the way of life. It’s a study of five years like doctors, Ayurvedic doctors in India and Sri Lanka have a full medicines. People go there for treatment, which is really good, with Western medicine together. It’s really a complete thing, like yin and yang, going into each other. So maybe you can see it here like.

Odiva Vasell: (12:23)
Yes, yes.

Crafting Personal Transformation in a Tropical Haven

Holistic wellness

Stefanie Lutz: (12:24)
It’s always like black and how dark, right? So, um, Ayurvedic yoga applies that, and on our Yoga Retreat, we are offering on the beautiful island of Antigua from the 14th to 21st of May, um, the theme is Overall Balanced Peace and Harmony. So, if you are stressed out or even burned out, or you have some difficulties to change, this is completely good for you. If you feel you’re not aligned because you maybe don’t get the relationships you want, that’s often something when those relationships, I mean every relationship, not only partner-wise or family-wise or work-wise, it’s something that something is blocked. We look at the chakras; these are these energy points along your body. So, yeah, and this week, after these seven days, you not only go home more balanced, but we give you the tools that you really can continue in your daily life with it. And why is our Retreat so different from others? Because it’s unique. We are only a very small group, maximum 10 persons, which is rather seven. So, you get the one-to-one attention of me and my colleague Selena as well, but we have in common as a yoga teacher. But what she brings in, she’s an award-winning holistic health and beauty wellness coach, her own organic beauty line she produced in Switzerland, and she won several awards for it. And she says, well, yoga teacher, but as well as a romance at life coach. So, our two talents together bring in this week that you get this inner balance in a very small group. We offer a very safe space. We are listening; you find other people’s embracing each other because we are coming from several backgrounds going there because we all want this inner balance. You have a small, unique group, not these big groups where like 15 people or even 25 people on some other Retreat, and the yoga teacher’s in front and does the exercises. It may be good for your body, but we want more for you. And if you think there must be more out for me in life, this Retreat is completely the one you should do. It’s experimental, and our name, I think, tells us that. Well, it’s called Transformative Retreat for Inner Balance. So, really, you get this experience. Like, twice a day, we do yoga, meditation, and a deep relaxation but added up with some other lectures and exercises. And don’t miss the fun part. This is not one of these yoga retreats where we take your phone away. We advise maybe to put it away more than you do at home, but it’s not one of these really strict ones where we are really strict about the nutrition and flow. We do apply and offer you a good, healthy nutrition from this beautiful island. And Selena is born in the Caribbean, and she got all a part of the wisdom of knowledge from her mom. She’s originally from India, and she already was doing all these planting, just and healthy herbal foods, and this we can as well try and give you some more advice on how about nutrition is implied. It’s not only yoga; it’s much more you will get in that week.

Odiva Vasell: (15:55)
That sounds fantastic. Let’s just take a deep breath into that. Ah.

Stefanie Lutz: (16:06)
And Antigua is so beautiful, especially when you’re living in a big city. And we picked a very cool, which really goes well with our small group, we picture a very small hotel, 18 rooms only, all suites. So, it’s a quite luxurious, nice place, very small place, calm, directly on the beach with a view of the turquoise beautiful waters, and you just can jump in every morning with like 10 steps. You’re in the water.

Odiva Vasell: (16:36)
Sounds heavenly. And I like what you said, is that more than the other retreats where they get you in and then they get you out, you have a little bit of experience, you have this one-on-one contact with you and the other teacher, with so much experience, and even more, you give them tools that they can take home.

Stefanie Lutz: (16:58)
Like everybody, and that you can do only with a small group like that. Everybody gets this personal, exactly for him, tailored-made home program. And as well during the week already, we do work one-to-one with you and tailor-made. We have the group sessions, of course, yes, as well. And we do, as I said, some fun part as well. We do ongoing two excursions, one is a boat excursion, and one is like where we walk through the beautiful nature of Antigua and do some meditation otherwise, not only in the retreat area but as well as…

Odiva Vasell: (17:31)
Oh wow, you’re using that in nature.

Stefanie Lutz: (17:34)
Outside on the beach, we practice in nature.

Odiva Vasell: (17:37)
And this is all coming up in May.

Stefanie Lutz: (17:14)
14th to 21st of May, yes.

Odiva Vasell: (17:43)
Okay, I’m gonna re-watch this and write it down.

Stefanie Lutz: (17:46)
And we have like five places left, so if you’re interested, sign in pretty soon. And if you have questions, maybe or Odiva, you can provide my contact. I’m happy to answer.

Odiva Vasell: (17:56)
Oh yes, I will be providing them with the website and every way to reach you about that. And just let’s emphasize one last thing. I want to emphasize because you are so passionate about your business, and no doubt you have worked so hard in this. What I’m learning and I’m hearing about it today is that you, like a diamond, multi-faceted, you look at the person’s birthday, their culture, everything about them when you make a plan for their wellness. How did you get started in this? Like what motivated you to go not just like what everybody else is doing, one size fits all, but take it to the next level?

The Inspiring Journeys through Holistic Well-being Practices

Wellness retreats

Stefanie Lutz: (18:47)
Yeah, I think I really like to help people, and I believe in what you give, you get back. And I started with yoga, and then the feng shui came up, and then the biophilia came in. And if I went on these yoga retreats, like long ago, before since 2008, I’m giving yoga retreats. And when you leave at the end of the day, we have always at the end of the week, we do a nice little party, and people say, “This is the best week we ever had.” You know, that gives you so much that lasts for six months, excuse me, energy for so much time. So, that’s like what I said, okay, let’s, you can do more and more. I’m always open. I think we are here to learn; we always have a purpose in life. And I think mine sometimes is I can transform other people’s lives. I love to do it, and by the resonance I get, or I had now just this year, I had a client who went through a really ugly divorce and wasn’t able to go in a relationship for three years. And then we did one week work together, and only six weeks after, they met her soulmate, and they’re a happy couple now. So, this is really working. And then if I hear this, it’s just like, wow. And I just like to continue and add to that. And this is my continuous learning and doing more, studying in the fields I’m working. And I think I have now a really good combination with this yoga, feng shui, and biophilic health home formula that holds itself.

Odiva Vasell: (20:31)
Feng shui and biophilic and just changing lives. Yes, you made it your mission to change lives, and you’ve really kind of not only studied but really care about what’s happening with the individual. And what you’re telling me, your results are that people get cleansed, like they cleanse from their environment, from their mental state, from their physical body, all these toxins that were holding them back. And now this particular lady was open to falling in love and really…

Stefanie Lutz: (21:07)
Definitely detoxifying is detoxifying what we are doing. And just a warning, of course, if you’re detoxifying, it’s not always easy. There are swelly moments where you have some trouble to come up while detoxifying. Everybody who went through a fasting phase or did any other detoxifying program, maybe by food detoxifying or getting rid of smoking, they know, oh, and then really comes these difficult times. But then on this retreat, for example, we are there. We are a small group. It’s a one-to-one. You’re not alone at this moment or as well with my other clients when I do a consultation for the health home formula. There I have another colleague I’m doing it together with. We are there for our clients even after the project is finished. So there’s always a follow-up after six months or if they need earlier, so we don’t leave them alone. I think that makes a big difference for everybody.

Odiva Vasell: (22:03)
And it’s beautiful. That is beautiful. You’re not kind of hitting them on the wrist. Don’t eat those foods. Don’t do that. Touch that cell phone. Don’t do this.

Stefanie Lutz: (22:12)
It doesn’t work that way. No, well, it doesn’t work that way. You have to want it for itself and to do that and to be strong enough to continue with it. You have to work a bit on it. It’s not always easy, but it can be fun. It’s not only like, “Oh!”

Odiva Vasell: (22:28)
This is good. This is good. And so, I just, you know, I’ll let everybody know that we had our time zone mixed up, my online, my mistake on my part. So because Stefanie added kind of in a rush, but I’m so glad that you made it here today, and we were able to learn about what you’re doing and how you’re growing your business to really, really change a lot of lives. And we will keep in touch. We will output. I’ll have all our contact information here for you to reach out and hopefully get your position on this retreat and really, like, transform inside, outside, and with close friends and experts walking alongside you.

Stefanie Lutz: (23:19)
Yeah, if you want to achieve your dreams 10 times faster in seven days, start with the yoga retreat or contact us via Well-Homes. And I thank you so much, Odiva. You are as well a transformative person. I know that you help so many people, and I’m so happy we met and thank you for the opportunity to talk to you.

Odiva Vasell: (23:38)
You’re so welcome. Okay.

Stefanie Lutz: (23:40)
Keep in touch and hope to see you soon. Bye-bye.
